I decided to spend Autumn’s first morning on the west shore of the Hyalite Reservoir. The water levels were quite low, but provided a unique perspective from the shoreline. And, the morning light and reflections were sublime.

BOZEMAN, MONTANA – DON’T TELL ANYONE…
“Don’t tell anyone how nice it is out here! When they ask, just tell them about the long stretches of twenty below or worse in the winter.” I follow my dad’s advice…They’re not that interested anyways. When my new Eastern friends hear I’m from Montana they say things like, ‘I’ve been to Colorado.’ I am puzzled. But even though I don’t tell anybody, somehow people find out about Montana anyway. As the years pass, the response to learning that my home town is Bozeman, Montana will change from blank looks to enthusiastic litanies of vacations centered there and accounts of young relatives who attended MSU and now are raising families in Bozeman.”
